Hampshire Park

Public park with covered picnic areas, bathroom facilities, and sports fields, playground equipment. Site of county 4H camp. 9 AM until dusk. River Rd., approximately 4 miles south of Rt. 50 on River Road, just west of Romney (turn south just east of the blue bridge). Reservations: 304-822-4720, Mon - Fri. 

Nathaniel Mountain Public Hunting & Fishing Area

8,798 acres with 21 miles of foot trails and 4 miles of stream. 12 wildlife clearings amidst extensively wooded mixed oak-hickory and oak-hard pine forest with abundant white-tailed deer and wild turkey, and small native brook trout (Mill Run). Primitive campground sites with water from mountain springs or hand pumps and vault-type toilets. East and south of Romney. A nominal fee is charged for camping.
